New Mexico / Construction Industries Division
New Mexico contractor credentials
The Construction Industries Division prints licensee lines on two clocks. The current printed table is the NMRLD 2026 Strategic Plan. The earlier budget form is not that table. The clocks are not blended. A qualifying party is not the company. A journeyman license is not the company. Manufactured housing is not CID. These lines are not added into one New Mexico contractor number.

Adjacent pages print FY25 actuals. Five trade bureaus: Electrical, Elevator, General Construction, LP Gas, Mechanical Plumbing. The elevator bureau was established in FY25. Its licensee count is NOT_ACQUIRED.
The division licenses roughly 17,433 contracting businesses and 44,495 certificate holders in 78 different licensing classifications. Classification counts are NOT_SEPARATED. The 78 classifications are stated, not enumerated.
| Line | Count | Where it sits |
|---|---|---|
| Qualifying Parties | 24,854 | certificate-holder |
| Qualifying Parties LP | 2,617 | certificate-holder |
| Journeyman Licenses | 17,024 | certificate-holder |
| Licensee - Companies | 16,769 | contracting-business |
| Licensee - LP | 664 | contracting-business |
| Secondhand Metal Dealers | 58 | outside-prose-groups |
| Printed total | 61,986 | Sum of the six lines. Not a contractor-company count. |
A qualifying party is not the company. A journeyman license is not the company. Licensee - Companies plus Licensee - LP is 17,433, matching the prose figure of roughly 17,433 contracting businesses. Qualifying Parties, Qualifying Parties LP, and Journeyman Licenses sum to 44,495, matching the prose figure of 44,495 certificate holders. Those two prose groups are not added into a new total. Secondhand metal dealers, 58, are inside the printed total and outside both prose groups. The six lines sum to 61,986. That printed total is not a contractor-company count.
Permits issued 33,377 and inspections 88,016 are activity, not licenses.
Earlier document, not the current table
This earlier document is not the current printed table. Source Regulation and Licensing Department budget form. Retrieved 2026-10-06. Bytes 4,283,569. The prose says roughly 16,055 contracting businesses and more than 16,839 certificate holders.
| Line | Count |
|---|---|
| Qualifying Parties | 22,702 |
| Qualifying Parties LP | 2,436 |
| Journeyman Licenses | 16,132 |
| Licensee - Companies | 15,375 |
| Licensee - LP | 646 |
| Secondhand Metal Dealers | 62 |
| Printed total | 59,894 |
The six lines sum to 57,353, which is not the printed total of 59,894. The residual 2,541 is unlabeled. No class is invented for it. Licensee - Companies plus Licensee - LP is 16,021, which is not the prose figure of roughly 16,055. The qualifying-party and journeyman lines are not the prose statement of more than 16,839 certificate holders. They are not forced equal.
The same earlier document says recycled metals oversees 63 dealers, while the table says 62. Both dealer figures are printed. They are not forced equal. The Crane Operators Safety Program oversees 360 licensed crane operators. Crane operators are not a CID contractor class.
Permits 33,872 and inspections 97,076 are activity, not licenses.
Manufactured housing, separate from CID
Manufactured housing is not CID. It is a separate division in the same two documents. Do not add it into the Construction Industries Division. The narrative active-contractor figure matches the crossover line, not the manufactured-housing table total.
