The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) issues construction licenses, bonds, certifications, and registrations through its Construction Codes and Licensing Division. Some belong to a business and some to an individual; they are different credentials with different numbers. This page keeps every kind separate. It does not count Minnesota contractors and is not a ranking or Trust Score.

DLI statewide export (280,548 credential numbers)
"The spreadsheet includes all licenses, bonds, certifications and registrations issued by DLI's Construction Codes and Licensing Division. It is updated nightly. Current, active licenses or registrations will have a status of 'Issued.'" The export has 59,718 business rows and 220,830 individual rows across 12 credential types. Each row is one credential number, not one contractor: a business can hold several, and a person's trade license is not a business. Residential contractors
A residential building contractor, residential remodeler, or residential roofer license is issued to the business and must have a qualifying person (qualifying builder, remodeler, or roofer registration) who passed the examination. The license and the qualifying registration are different credentials with different numbers and are never added. A Certificate of Exemption is not a license.
